The opportunity
In order to help Cochlear continue to grow and service our customers we are recruiting for an Acccount Manager (Surgical) to support our work across NSW & ACT.

As the Account Manager You will be responsible for achieving sales targets by providing industry leading surgical support and training aligned with the needs of the business.

Your ability to create manage and maintain strong relationships with professional providers to include surgeons audiologists hospitals and clinics is critical to the success of the role. Your strong learning agility enables your development of knowledge across Cochlears product portfolio. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in your market as well as cross-functionally with other corporate teams to create business plans designed to grow new and existing accounts.

The position requires clinical expertise comfort with attending and addressing surgical needs and the continuous development and application of business acumen.

This is a fixed term contract for 1 year in the first instance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Acumen - prospecting for opportunities with new and existing customers (surgeons). You will demonstrate successful relationship building with surgical partners and demonstrate credibility with key accounts.

  • Business Acumen - demonstrating in-depth knowledge of sales reports forecast templates and SGA reports for planning purposes. You will utilize all aspects of business acumen tools (Miller Heiman Salesforce contracting etc.).

  • Surgical Support - maintaining an in-depth product knowledge of both CI and Acoustic internal product offerings in order to effectively sell and position Cochlear product features and brand benefits..

  • Build and Manager Advocacy Programs - Work closely with Clinical Affairs (CA) team to ensure clinical support and expertise is delivered to THPs via the CA team.

  • Customer Experience/Support - Provide surgical support in the operating theatre for Cochlear Implant procedures especially during the start-up phase for new surgeons staff or hospitals and on-going basis support as necessary.

About You. As we grow our operations we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role youll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree in business Healthcare or relevant field

  • Experience in medical devices Sales particularly experienced in selling within an operating room environment.

  • Previous Territory Management Experience will be highly regarding.

  • Professionalism and cultural sensitivity

  • Excellent sales and influencing skills.

  • Outstanding communication skills oral written and presentation. Should be able to communicate well with internal and external stakeholders with a sense of urgency.

  • Good understanding of institutional and B2B sales processes along with sound commercial acumen
