About the Role:

The Social & Emotional Wellbeing Caseworker Trainee is responsible for assisting and supporting the SEWB team in the delivery of culturally appropriate services aimed at improving the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal communities.

The key objectives of the role include:

  • Community engagement across a variety of settings.
  • Support the SEWB Team in delivering group activities and programs across various age groups.
  • Support the SEWB Team in providing social and emotional wellbeing education sessions and outreach services to clients and community.
  • Ensure service delivery is accessible responsive and safe for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Essential Criteria:

  • Commitment to undertake a Certificate IV in Community Services.
  • Commitment to developing and implementing trauma informed practice.
  • Confirmation of Aboriginality
  • Have strong local connection to the Biripi community.
  • Have an interest in working with Aboriginal communities to improve overall social and emotional wellbeing.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands.
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation and the community.
  • Ability to hold all relevant security clearances including National Police Check and Working with Children clearance.
  • Current drivers licence
