The opportunity

The Senior Estimator will support the estimating function through the effective management of Downers estimating and validation of WIP and cost to complete validation on our Water projects for the Energy & Utilities business unit. The successful applicant can envision themselves attending to duties such as:

What youll do

Lead multidiscipline estimates and supervise other estimators to ensure outputs as required for the project
Prepare detailed cost estimates for water and wastewater projects including civil structural mechanical and electrical elements
Develop and review subcontractor RFT packages.
Review and analyse project risk opportunity and contingency allowances
Present cost estimates to management at varying levels of design certainty
Prepare first principles estimates and present cost estimates to management at varying levels of design certainty
Develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

What were looking for

Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications
Proficient in current market estimating systems (Candy Expert benchmark)
Familiarity with engineering disciplines and experience with a variety of forms of contract including partnering and alliancing
Well-developed organisational skills including written and oral communication
Commercial skills and understanding of financial administration and project costing
The ability to work well within a team as well as on sole-charge work
