JOB SUMMARY:

This is a manager-level position with Fire Command experience that will oversee the management of the Fire Command Center. This position is also responsible for recordkeeping compliance developing and adhering to best practices and direct communication with all departments related to compliance with current fire codes and overall building inspections in conjunction with the Atlantic City Fire Department. This position will be responsible for working with all departments of the property to ensure compliance of all fire regulations and fire will coordinate with facilities risk department and legal department to ensure accurate record keeping of compliance is met. This position will detect fire hazards recommend prevention measures ensure compliance with state and local fire codes and will review emergency evacuation plans for the property.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages day to day Fire Command Center operations and all functions performed in the Fire Command Center.
  • Oversees Maximo tickets are submitted and abated in a timely manner.
  • Works closely with the Facilities department ensuring completion of safety hazard issues and compliance with all fire codes.
  • Responsible for hiring training and evaluating direct reports.
  • Responsible for the planning implementation control and coordination of approved policies and procedures relating to fire prevention and emergency safety procedures.
  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating the inspection and maintenance of in-house fire equipment and for the on-going inspection programs of fire and safety hazards.
  • Ensures FCC staff is compliant with appropriate laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs physical inspections of the complex to ensure fire code compliance.
  • Responsible documenting and follow up to completion of maintenance requests for compliance with fire codes and safety hazards.
  • Investigates all fire alarms received through the computer or by phone.
  • Administers technical inspections with various departments and outside vendors contractors and Atlantic City Fire Department.
  • Reviews and oversees all convention floor plans to ensure compliance with the Atlantic City Fire Prevention Bureau.
  • Ensures high level of service standards for the Fire Command team as well as exceptional inter-departmental collaboration communication and support.
  • Provides leadership in the department to create a work environment that promotes teamwork efficiency and productivity recognition and respect employee satisfaction high caliber staffing training and an exemplary role model standard for the department.
  • Conducts staff meetings on a regular basis to review department projects safety programs and a high level of communication.
  • Ensures the building infrastructure needs are being monitored tracked and maintained to ensure optimum efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintains a property emergency response plan with a thoroughly trained and prepared staff including on site availability when necessary to direct activities during such events.
  • Always Provides Family Style Service.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma and advanced training in safety and fire prevention of seven years experience in fire safety and/or security required. NJ Fire Prevention License/Inspector License required. Must obtain and maintain certification in Simplex/Grinnell Fire Safety System. Must have ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
