About the Role

We are looking for an energetic forward-thinking ESOL Learning Delivery Development Co-ordinator to help drive innovation inspire tutors and shape the future of our ESOL provision.

The aim of this role is to assist in the management of the provision of Adult Learning ESOL to ensure that classes are well run quality of education is high and learners are supported to enjoy and achieve in their learning. This is a varied role and within it you will also need to promote classes and recruit new learners complete all course administration and support tutors to deliver excellent lessons and manage attendance and behaviour. The role manages a pool of sessional teaching staff.

We currently run a thriving ESOL programme delivering 69 courses across Leicestershire including the Homes for Ukraine Scheme and the Afghan Resettlement Project in partnership with the local councils.

The role is varied and challenging and different times of the year are busy in different ways! At the start of the year duties include ensuring that all classes are ready paperwork is updated and prepared and planning is complete for the forthcoming year towards the end of each term we are managing assessments and moderation submitting results and creating reports. No week is the same! There is a teaching element to this post and there is an expectation that around 20% of your time will be spent teaching ESOL mainstream courses to adults face to face.

You will need to complete mandatory training linked to the role and the service.

We would like someone based in the East of the county if possible as our current LDDC is based in the East. You must be willing to travel around the county (to visit tutors attend curriculum and service meetings including briefings held on 3 Saturday mornings across the year) and have access to your own transportation.

About You

You will have:

  • A relevant and approved subject-specific teaching qualification at the required level for the subject specialism (CELTA- Level 5 Cert TESOL TEFL PGCE teaching qualification)
  • Good functional skills (to at least NVQ Level 2 or above) in Maths English and ICT (or evidence of competence)
  • Experience of implementing Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement processes and procedures applicable to teaching and learning
  • Experience of managing staff and coordination of courses.
  • Ability to use ICT for professional communications using email and attachments and other platforms including SharePoint and ProSolution. You also need to be able to use the adult learning platform (Virtual learning environment- or VLE) both as a user and also as a tutor.
  • The ability to embrace ongoing change whilst encouraging and supporting others to do the same
  • The ability to develop and suggest solutions to problems or challenges and resolve problems at the earliest/most appropriate stage

You must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.
