Job Summary

The Business Information Systems Manager provides oversight and leadership of Facilities Information Services.

- Analyzes projects to develop project plans and provides all aspects of data management and analysis in support of the business intelligence environment.
- Gathers and analyzes business requirements utilizing project management methodologies.
- Analyzes and refines business processes in both the current state and future state.
- Assists in developing strategic communication and providing supporting communication materials for the department.

Each of these tasks requires a high attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

The individual will achieve these results through project management research skills data analysis and communication.

This position works collaboratively with Facilities Services Units the Office the Vice President for Finance and Planning vendors and campus partners.

$70000 - $85000 annual

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelors or equivalent degree in Business Administration Computer Science Data Science Information Technology IT Management Programmer IT Systems or related degree (verify with transcript).

2. At least five (5) years of full time (or part time equivalent) professional level work experience as an Application Administrator or lead operational role in business and/or technology systems such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Electronic Access or similar IT systems with project management experience in leading and managing projects throughout the project life cycle from initiation to closure. Three (3) years of the professional level work experience must have included supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with information technology systems such as WebTMA 25Live and Business Intelligence tools. As well as experience utilizing and managing GIS systems.

Work Hours

Core work hours are 8am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Business needs may occasionally require additional hours outside of core work hours.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
3. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
