Assistant Manager (Special Projects) ()
The University is seeking a highly motivated and focused professional in a built environment to join the Estates Office.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Estates (Special Projects) the appointeewill support the formulation and implementation of the Universitys Campus Master Plan III (CMP III) space management of the University and special projects as assigned by the Assistant Director. The successful candidate will assist in carrying out strategic space studies and planning as well as participating in design development and projectmanagement of both Universitys capital and non-capital projects including addition alteration and improvement work across the University.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the project team of the Office regarding overall planning of campus development enhancement and spatial reorganisation issues including take part in the Campus Master Plan (III) carry out space planning review and study potential capital and non-capital works opportunities in the University campuses;
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand their needs and prepare detailed user briefs feasibility studies concept planning and schematic design in alignment with both user needs and CMP (III) objectives;
- Maintain accurate records of space inventory allocation of changes and development plans;
- Take part in the preparation of design presentations including drawings rendering and data visualisation as well as production of tender drawings and documents specifications and other project control documents for in-house campus projects;
- Supervise consultants contractors and suppliers to execute campus projects according to agreed scope cost timeline and quality standards throughout the full cycle of project implementation;
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination among all stakeholders including end-users and government departments especially regarding funding applications and statutory approvals;
- Monitor and report progress risks and issues to ensure timely completion and handover;
- Provide robust on-site coordination and supervision throughout construction and A&A works; and
- Other tasks as required by supervisors.
Requirements:
- Possessa recognised bachelors degree or higher inArchitectural Studies or related disciplines;
- Full member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects with at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
- Hands-on experience in space planning and management campus A&A works project management and statutory submission;
- Proficiency in computer applications including Auto CAD Revit Sketchup Adobe Photoshop PowerPoint and space/asset management software;
- Good interpersonal communication and organisational skills;
- Good command of both written and spoken English and reasonable proficiency in Putonghua; and
- Creative pleasant service-orientated responsible self-motivated and able to work collaboratively and independently.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract for two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Shortlisted candidates are required to sit a written test.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
