Qualifications:
College hours (preferred) high school diploma or GED ( required)
Proficient keyboarding word processing and file maintenance skills
Experience working in a clerical position
Ability to work independently
Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Expertise in office machines including personal computer
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Ability to work within deadlines and handle frequent interruptions
Flexibility and ability to organize self and employee filing systems
Initiative and good judgment in working with the public employees and administrators
Ability to follow procedures with minimal supervision
Primary Purpose:
Work under the discretion of the Associate Director of Employee Services with all matters related to Hiring by scheduling candidate interviews submitting Recommendation to Hire (Rec to Hire) documentation and maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records. Prepare and maintain department records files And verify that all transportation staff meet Department of Transportation (DOT) driving requirements ensuring compliance with federal and organization standards. Support the hiring lifecycle safeguard regulatory adherence and contributing to the overall efficiency of employee services within the Transportation department. Always act in the best interest of the district the students and the community.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Type correspondence reports agendas memos etc.
- Daily telephone communication.
- Coordinate communications with department personnel.
- Relate and communicate positively with patrons and all district employees.
- Serve as translator as needed for Spanish/English language conversion (both oral and written).
- Utilize district-adopted software systems including but not limited to Munis TalentEd SmartTag and Fleetvision.
- Keep daily and monthly reports up-to-date record data and distribute.
- Maintain filing system.
- Prepare and maintain driver safety files.
- Assist with fixed assets inventories and disposals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used
Personal computer telephone printer copier and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Work with frequent interruptions maintain emotional control under hand motions. Occassional irregular hours.
