We are seeking a compassionate detail-oriented and dedicated General Practitioner (GP) to join our diverse and inclusive team. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient consultations identifying diagnosing and treating a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions.
- Conduct routine check-ups preventive care and screenings to promote patient health and well-being.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments while monitoring for efficacy and potential side effects.
- Maintain accurate patient records treatment plans and updates using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Facilitate timely referrals to specialists or other healthcare professionals as needed for further evaluation or intervention.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care.
- Educate patients and their families on health promotion disease prevention and wellness strategies.
- Stay current with advances in medical knowledge and treatment protocols through ongoing professional development.
- Adhere to ethical legal and regulatory standards as set by local healthcare authorities.
- Promote equity in healthcare access and contribute to an inclusive medical practice.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (M.D. or equivalent) and completion of a residency program in General Practice or Family Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice as a General Practitioner in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience working as a GP preferably in a diverse patient-centered environment.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills combined with an empathetic and approachable bedside manner.
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities to understand and address patients concerns effectively.
- Commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive care environment for individuals from all cultural social and economic backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and staying organized.
- CPR/First Aid certification is desirable.
Day-to-Day
- Start your day by reviewing your schedule patient appointments and case notes.
- Meet with 8-12 patients daily conducting thorough consultations and examinations tailored to individual needs.
- Interpret diagnostic tests (e.g. bloodwork imaging) and communicate results to patients clearly and compassionately.
- Make informed decisions on patient care including prescription renewals referrals and follow-ups.
- Attend team meetings collaborate with nursing staff and participate in ongoing case discussions.
- Allocate time to document patient interactions and update medical records with precision.
- Provide phone or virtual consultations addressing urgent patient concerns when necessary.
- Conclude your day with a review of complex patient files and plan treatment strategies for upcoming appointments.
