Job Summary

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structures Technician - Heavy Maintenance
LOCATION: Tuscon AZ
PAY RATE: $33-34/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

  • Inspect aircraft structures thoroughly identifying and documenting damage or wear

  • Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures

  • Execute sheet metal repairs and modifications on structural components (wing fuselage tail etc.)

  • Fabricate and modify aircraft parts as needed

  • Perform minor structural repairs on composite components attached or detached

  • Conduct mechanical and electrical removals and installations as required

  • Interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals blueprints and technical specifications

  • Assist with complex structural repairs on and off aircraft

  • Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and regulatory compliance

  • Inspect confined areas of the airframe

  • Stay current on industry trends technological advancements and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 1 year of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or equivalent

  • Corporate jet or commercial aircraft experience preferred

  • CRJ airframe experience a plus

  • MRO experience a plus

  • Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) a plus

  • 3 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Completion of Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent preferred

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License preferred

  • Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials

  • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings

  • Possess a basic set of tools

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable with shift work in a 24/7 operation (12-hour days nights and weekends)

  • Comfortable working with technology and entering maintenance actions into a computer-based system

  • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge if applicable

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
