Summary:
-
Inspect aircraft structures thoroughly identifying and documenting damage or wear
-
Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures
-
Execute sheet metal repairs and modifications on structural components (wing fuselage tail etc.)
-
Fabricate and modify aircraft parts as needed
-
Perform minor structural repairs on composite components attached or detached
-
Conduct mechanical and electrical removals and installations as required
-
Interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals blueprints and technical specifications
-
Assist with complex structural repairs on and off aircraft
-
Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and regulatory compliance
-
Inspect confined areas of the airframe
-
Stay current on industry trends technological advancements and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance
Requirements:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Minimum 1 year of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or equivalent
-
Corporate jet or commercial aircraft experience preferred
-
CRJ airframe experience a plus
-
MRO experience a plus
-
Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) a plus
-
3 years of relevant experience preferred
-
Completion of Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent preferred
-
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License preferred
-
Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials
-
Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
-
Possess a basic set of tools
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills
-
Comfortable with shift work in a 24/7 operation (12-hour days nights and weekends)
-
Comfortable working with technology and entering maintenance actions into a computer-based system
-
Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge if applicable
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
