As a Veterinary Surgery/ICU Supervisor you will play a key leadership role in guiding our surgical & ICU team maintaining high standards of patient care and ensuring efficient daily operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced specialty environment and is passionate about teamwork communication and excellence.
Schedule
- Shifts are scheduled MondayFriday between 7am and 7pm.
- Standard schedule: Four 10-hour days per week.
- Rotating weeknight on-call for emergencies (one night every other week).
- Rotating weekend responsibilities on-call emergency availability. (approximately one weekend every 6-8 weeks)
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise coach and support the surgical technical team.
- Manage staff workflows and complex specialty hospital operations.
- Provide clear communication timely instruction and consistent expectations.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring processes identifying variables and facilitating timely corrections.
- Lead through meticulous planning monitoring appraising and problem-solving.
- Handle employee coaching counseling and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Initiate coordinate and enforce systems policies and procedures that maintain efficiency and quality.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Maryland preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an RVT or 5 years as a technician in a specialty practice
- Minimum 5 years of experience monitoring anesthesia in a specialty setting
