Duties and Responsibilities
*Serves as a Fiscal Specialist in the Business Office for the Shidler College of Business (COB) responsible for the management and administration of the Colleges fiscal and personnel functions.
*Serves as the primary resource for the Executive Education Center (EEC) Programs financial and personnel management procurement and other administrative areas providing advice to management and program personnel at all levels.
*Ensures the timely and accurate recordation of revenue and expenditure transactions on EEC accounts in compliance with applicable laws rules regulations policies and procedures.
*Maintains and analyses fiscal transaction information records and financial reports fiscal data journals and other related fiscal records.
*Coordinates reviews and processes EEC HR documentation for on and off-boarding of faculty lecturer student employment casual hire and overload.
*Exercises professional independence and judgment in researching analyzing evaluating and resolving complex Executive Education fiscal and personnel issues. Provides recommendations to the EED EEC staff and Principal investigators.
*Independently performs complex assignments in the areas of fiscal and/or personnel involving application of UH policies and regulations and in alignment with generally accepted methods and practices.
*Prepares periodic and year-end financial reports for the Executive Education Director (EED). Provides financial analysis feedback and recommendations for use by EED and the Dean in programmatic decision-making.
*Performs program budget status forecasts review and analysis to communicate financial information to the EED and makes recommendations to effectively manage the financial activities for the program.
*Monitors reviews and reconciles accounting records of revenues expenditures encumbrances cash and account balances for UH and UHF accounts.
*Establishes and maintains effective working relationships within COB UHF UH System Disbursement and OHR personnel staff Fiscal Administrators Principal Investigators and others to effectively and efficiently administer fiscal tasks and requests.
*Keeps abreast of current policies procedures regulations directives and statutory and donor/client specific requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for business administration accounting or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
Considerable knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of financial accounting cost accounting and governmental accounting as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts principles and methodologies.
Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated with governmental accounting and fund accounting.
Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
If applicable for supervisory work demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently under pressure with frequent interruptions and remain flexible in multi-tasking several concurrent projects with competing deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement apply tact and discretion in dealing with diverse groups and confidential information.
Demonstrated ability and proficiency with financial and/or personnel information systems.
Desirable Qualifications
Familiarity with UH and/or RCUH Human Resources Information Systems.
Familiarity with UH UHF and/or RCUH fiscal policies procedures and/or accounting systems.
Masters degree in Business Administration Accounting or related field.
Experience working in a higher education environment.
