RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
The Centre for Precision Psychiatry is seeking a clinical research coordinator to collaborate on our mental health biobank project. We are collecting clinical and biological data from patients undergoing psychiatric treatment to make them available through open science.
This position requires performing blood draws so a valid license to practice is required. We are looking for someone for an initial 6-month contract but it may be possible for us to extend it longer term thereafter.
General Duties
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the project manager in the collection and dissemination of data. This includes:
Assists in the planning and organization of the research project
Recruits and monitors patients for the study.
Obtains consent from patients to participate in research projects
Conducts standardized clinical interviews with patients
Obtain blood samples according to research protocol requirements
Ensures the quality of collected biological and clinical data
Performs data entry
Reviews patient charts
Drafts research documents for various audiences (researchers participants clinicians research team)
Participates in the extraction of clinical-administrative data
Maintains good relations with clinicians
Performs other tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.
Excellent French and English spoken and written
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision
Demonstrate diplomacy discretion and good judgment.
Status: Temporary full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. $44408.00 - $82427.80.
Work Shift: Variable Schedule
The candidate would work primarily 9-5pm weekdays but would be required to work up to 3.5 daytime weekend hours and 3.5 evening hours per week as needed. If weekend/evening hours are required weekday hours would be reduced accordingly.
Work Site: Allan Memorial Insitute 1025 Pine Ave. W
Occasionally the candidates duties might require them to work out of the Montreal General Hospital or Douglas Mental Health Research Institute. It is possible to discuss a reduced workload depending on the availability of interested candidates.
