Your Role as an Instrumentation Technician
We are looking for a motivated Instrumentation Technician to join our team. This role focuses on supporting air quality monitoring networks with precision and safety. If you enjoy hands-on technical work troubleshooting and working outdoors this position is for you.


Your Key Accountabilities:

  • Support air quality monitoring stations by performing maintenance calibration and troubleshooting to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Follows all applicable MECP (Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks) guidelines standards and protocols related to ambient air monitoring data quality and reporting.
  • Assist with logistics for field programs and organizing equipment.
  • Communicate daily field updates to Project Managers and Clients.
  • Complete fieldwork following BESTECH and client safety protocols and technical best practices.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate field notes for all activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues with monitoring equipment mechanical systems and field instruments.
  • Support preparation of field reports ensure quality assurance and complete data entry accurately.
  • Preform landscaping and snow removal; including brush removal brush cutting shoveling pathways as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in Instrumentation or a related field.
  • Experience with air quality monitoring systems and environmental sampling equipment is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in field conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Diligent record keeping skills.
  • Proficiency in navigating and utilizing multiple software programs and digital tools; ability to adapt to new technologies as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites specifically excel.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to field sites.


Working Conditions:

  • Working outdoors on client sites within Greater Sudbury city limits up to 75% of the time.
  • Work performed in a regular office setting and workshop up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for up to 250 meters.
  • Exposure to inclement weather.
  • Operation of brush cutters brush trimmers and grass trimmers.


Term: Full-Time Temporary (40 hours/week)
Contract ends: March 31 2027; with the possibility of extension.
