Established in 2000 the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies advanced materials and additive manufacturing.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Apply your knowledge in aerodynamics and aeromechanics / aeroelasticity to develop innovative aerothermal-mechanical solutions for GE Aerospace products.
- Develop ideas and concepts and mature technologies through various technology readiness levels (TRLs) to improve aero performance for GE Aerospace products.
- Deliver on technical projects meeting schedules and budgets implement plans with minimal guidance to meet technical requirements and document results.
- Participate in a team on multi-generate technology programs to enable future design advancements while independently executing tasks leveraging your technical skills.
- Network and collaborate with both GE Aerospace business and research team members to identify opportunities for innovation build plans and execute on technical projects

Should have experience in aerodynamics and aeromechanics / aeroelasticity to develop innovative aerothermal-mechanical solutions for GE Aerospace products.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering specializing in Turbomachinery Aerodynamics & Aeromechanics / Aeroelasticity OR M.S in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering specializing in Turbomachinery Aerodynamics & Aeromechanics / Aeroelasticity with at least 4 to 5 years of experience in applied research
- Demonstrated fundamental knowledge turbomachinery aerodynamics / aeromechanics / aeroelasticity and relevant computational expertise
- Demonstrated experience in using in-commercial CFD codes (ANSYS CFX FLUENT) or experience with in-house codes.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new unfamiliar technology areas and to abstract system level concepts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in turbomachinery aerodynamics / aeromechanics / aeroelasticity
- Experience in unsteady aerodynamics CFD URANS and LES modelling and applications
- Experience in detailed modeling of turbomachinery components and sub-components
- Hands-on experience in designing fans compressors and/or turbines at various levels of fidelity
- Experience in performing design trade-off studies and design optimization
