As a Research Assistant you will:

  • Support the recruitment of health providers and employers of RESET Trial participants for process evaluation activities.
  • Coordinate invitations and appointments for health professionals and employers interested in engaging in qualitative interviews including screening for eligibility; conducting qualitative interviews; follow up of missed appointments; obtaining address details and necessary consent forms from study participants; collecting other relevant data; and data entry.
  • Overseeing transcription and working with the research team to analyse qualitative data.
  • Supporting the team in other process evaluation activities including satisfaction surveys of participants intervention engagement and uptake analysis and intervention fidelity analysis.
  • Manage the process evaluation projects on a day-to-day basis by ensuring that data is being collected and stored appropriately according to procedural requirements of the research project and conforming to good clinical practice guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical trial protocols and support the clinical trials team in ensuring that projects are conducted in accordance with all regulatory state national and internationally accepted guidelines for Good Clinical Practice in research (ICH GCP).
  • Maintain strict standards of confidentially.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance procedures related to the project and service including any necessary training and review meetings implemented across trial sites.
  • Develop working relationship with mentors and supervisors
  • Adopt culture of clinical and research excellence innovation and impact.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures including but not limited to those relating to equal opportunity occupational health and safety risk and financial management privacy and own development and performance planning and review
  • Any other duties as directed commensurate with the scope and classification of the position.

To be successful youll have:

  • A Graduate qualification in a health relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of stroke through professional experience and/or lived experience (as a stroke survivor or carer).
  • Experience with qualitative research and analysis and facilitating interviews with stroke survivors health professionals and/or community members.
  • High-level word processing/computer skills
  • Excellent data management quality assurance and record keeping skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills and an ability to multi-task to manage competing priorities across multiple research projects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently while also working constructively with supervisor/mentor and as a team member.
  • Good understanding of confidentiality ethical and professional issues particularly around patient information.
  • Ability to promote a harmonious team morale.
