Role Overview
Client is seeking a Security Analyst with strong hands-on experience in security scanning vulnerability identification application security and security standards/compliance. This role is part of a hybrid onsite model in NYC and requires a candidate capable of independent research structured documentation and clear communication across technical teams

Key Responsibilities
Perform vulnerability scanning and analysis using industry tools
Support web application security including scanning and WAF configuration
Analyze logs and scanning outputs to recommend remediation steps
Apply CIS STIG and other industry benchmarks for hardening
Investigate security issues across HTTP encryption DNS SMTP PKI etc.
Conduct container security assessments
Create clear documentation for architecture workflows and troubleshooting
Communicate requirements and status updates to stakeholders

Required Skills
Hands-on familiarity with:
Web protocols - HTTP PKI signatures/encryption SMTP DNS
Vulnerability frameworks - CWE CVE
Security scanning tools - Nessus NMAP ZAP BurpSuite Invicti Nuclei
Web application security and WAF technologies
Container technologies
Security hardening standards - CIS STIG or equivalent

Preferred Experience
Authentication & Identity: SAML Kerberos OAuth OIDC LDAP
Scripting: PowerShell Python
CI/CD: Jenkins
SIEM & Logging: Splunk data onboarding sourcetypes data models HEC etc.
Message/event platforms: Azure Event Hubs Kafka syslog
Endpoint / Threat tools: Sentinel Defender CrowdStrike or equivalent

General Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred (not mandatory)
Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
Ability to research independently and propose solutions
Excellent written documentation skills
Clear verbal communication with cross-functional teams
