The opportunity

We are seeking a temporary full-time Corporate Accounting and Reporting Analyst in Ottawa to cover an 18-month maternity leave with possible extension. The role supports accounting operations and manages both internal and external financial reporting including monthly quarterly and annual close processes.

Your impact

Youll support the financial planning and analysis and corporate accounting functions across multiple legal entities and operational divisions. Youll prepare consolidated financial statements and related note disclosures and internal reporting packages to Vice Presidents and Executive Team.

Your writing analytical and communications skills will enable you to thrive in this position if you excel at problem-solving and working in a fast-paced environment in collaboration with team members project managers clients and stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

Alongside our Director of Finance you will contribute to different stages of our project lifecycle:

  • Support the corporate month end / quarterly close process including reviewing of period end entries intercompany billing period end journal entries GL coding review.
  • Support the Administrative pre-qualification process with various State DoTs for US subsidiary
  • Support the Assistant Controllers with A/R WIP Review.
  • Lead the systematic AR collection process working with PMs clients and management team in reviewing and pursuing overdue AR.
  • Support the AVP Finance with project setup and timesheet postings as needed.
  • Support preparation of internal management reporting including divisional performance and cash forecasts and manage the models
  • Provide semi-monthly cash reporting to senior management.
  • Produce financing covenant reporting
  • Support report design and configurations in ERP system.
  • Participate in other projects as assigned including M&A integration


What you bring to the team

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in financial reporting gained within professional services real estate infrastructure or similar industries
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Ability to adapt to and learn new software such as Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Be skilled in the use of Excel project-based enterprise resource planning
  • Speak and write fluently in English (French an Asset)
  • Legally able to work in Canada
