About Trenton Hospital
This Magnet-designated facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for its patients and is one of four recipients of the Truven Health Advantage Award in the category of Health and Clinical Outcomes. It is home to nine university affiliated residency programs. Here you will find a Level II trauma center that is a nationally recognized heart vascular and pulmonary specialties along with other specialties like orthopedics neurosurgery and womens health.
Scope of work
The certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in accordance to the American College of Surgeon (ACS) provides direct aid to the primary surgeon in all aspects of surgery peri-operatively. This includes; exposure hemostasis closure (multi-modality) and all other technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation leading to optimal results. Also they aid in the implantation removal manipulation and securing of devices prosthetics tissues and addition to they may even harvest vein arterial and tissue grafts. The RNFA performs all of these functions under the direct supervision of the Surgeon. Lastly the RNFA may also serve in the capacity of a Clinical Nurse.
