Description:
Were on the lookout for a friendly and flexible Medical Assistant to join our outpatient team floating between Pediatrics and Adult Medicine this role youll be the welcoming face (and voice!) for our patientsgreeting them warmly answering phones scheduling appointments and making sure their visit gets off to a smooth start. Youll also handle key business tasks like patient registration insurance verification collecting copays managing referrals and providing general clerical support to keep things running seamlessly behind the scenes.
This is a float position so youll travel between different locations sometimes within the same day. Reliable transportation is essential as youll be supporting both our Pediatrics and Adult Medicine offices based on daily needs.
What you will do:
- Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
- Answers telephones in a timely courteous and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
- Verifies active primary and secondary third-party payer insurance coverage eligibility with the payers via prescribes format.
- Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner
- Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.
- Accurately registers patients ensuring that the information required is obtained confirming identity address phone numbers PCP insurance co-pay and other pertinent information in order to complete patient registration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.
- Excellent keyboard skills. Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products. Accuracy and dependability required.
Pay Range: $17.00 - $22.90
Pay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
