Job Summary
Overview
We are looking for a Senior QE who will champion quality engineering within the squad. This role involves designing and implementing robust quality engineering practices ensuring our products meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. The QE will work closely with cross-functional cross-skilled teams and lead quality initiatives while upholding automation-first strategies in an agile environment.
Responsibilities- Take full accountability for the quality of assigned applications and services throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ensure quality is embedded from design through deployment proactively identifying risks and gaps.
- Drive process improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of deliverables.
- Define and enforce quality standards best practices and acceptance criteria for all deliverables.
- Drive shift-left testing by collaborating with developers and product owners early in the cycle.
- Act as the single point of contact for quality-related queries within the squad.
- Create Test artefacts like Test Plan and Test Strategy.
- Review and clarify functional and non-functional requirements identify gaps and raise queries early.
- Create detailed test cases scenarios and data sets aligned with acceptance criteria.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage to minimise regression risks.
- Perform functional testing log defects and validate fixes.
- Track prioritise and retest defects to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis for any quality gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Provide daily status updates test progress reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Scale up to run automation tests and debug failures in due course of time.
- Transition from manual testing to Automation Engineers by taking initiative to learn automation scripting tools and frameworks.
- Communicating and presenting ideas to colleagues in all parts of the wider business.
- Partner with software engineers product owners and business stakeholders to align quality objectives.
- Working with QA engineers and testers located in multiple geographic locations.
- Proven track record in agile ways of working
- Experience in Test planning and creation of test artefacts
- Proven experience in End to End testing Life cycle
- Commercial savvy necessary to ensure work is prioritised and targeted appropriately.
- Good Team Player
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Desirable:
- Ability to take an automation-first approach to quality engineering.
- Hands on Experience in running Automation packs
- Basic Scripting knowledge in any language
- Good understanding of DevOps principles.
