Position Overview
The Sales Officer will be responsible for driving sales through channel partners distributors and retailers while building strong customer relationships. This role includes channel development territory management achieving monthly sales targets ensuring product availability and maintaining excellent rapport with trade partners to maximize market penetration.
1. Key Roles & Responsibilities
A. Channel & Distribution Sales
Manage and develop distributor and dealer network within assigned territory.
Ensure proper distribution coverage stock availability and market reach.
Achieve primary and secondary sales targets consistently.
Drive sales growth through effective channel planning and execution.
Monitor distributor ROI inventory levels and order frequency.
Coordinate with distributors for timely billing dispatch and payment follow-ups.
B. Territory & Market Management
Identify potential markets and expand distribution network.
Conduct regular market visits to understand competitor activities and consumer trends.
Ensure correct product placement visibility and promotional execution at retail points.
Plan beat routes and ensure productive daily market working.
C. Customer Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with channel partners retailers and key customers.
Address customer queries concerns and issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction.
Collect customer feedback and share insights with the management team.
Support trade partners in resolving operational issues (billing delivery claims etc.).
D. Sales Planning & Reporting
Prepare daily weekly and monthly sales reports.
Analyze sales trends and suggest improvement strategies.
Track sales performance vs. targets.
Maintain updated records of distributors dealers and retailers.
E. Coordination
Work closely with logistics finance and marketing teams for smooth operations.
Implement promotional schemes new product launches and marketing campaigns in the market.
Ensure proper communication of schemes to distributors and retail partners.
2. Skills & Competencies Required
Strong knowledge of channel sales distribution management and retail handling.
Excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Customer-first mindset with problem-solving attitude.
Good understanding of market dynamics and competitor landscape.
Proficiency in MS Excel reporting and CRM tools.
Ability to work independently with high ownership and accountability.
3. Qualification & Experience
Graduate (MBA preferred).
2-5 years of experience in Channel Sales / Distribution Sales / FMCG / Consumer Durables / Retail.
Proven experience in handling distributors and retailers.
