About the unit

Zeeland Hospital Surgical Services has three operating rooms one c-section room and two endoscopy procedure rooms. We provide outpatient and inpatient care to the hospital and our community.

Scope of work

Assists in the preparation delivery and clean-up of patient care during the intra-operative phase. Contributes to the smooth operation of the unit. Obtains and organizes necessary equipment sterile supplies and instruments for each surgical case. Assembles surgical supplies for rooms and case tables. Opens sterile supplies for surgical procedures. Cleans equipment (including decontamination and sterilization of instruments) work areas and reusable supplies and returns unneeded equipment to appropriate department. Also follows-up on equipment needing repairs.

Qualifications

Associates degree of Surgical Technology or the successful completion of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology. Not all schools involve an Associates degree. Required

AHA OR ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 Days of hire Required

Surgical Technologist Experience (Clinical rotations do count as experience) Preferred
