Position Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for decontaminating assembling sterilizing and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with national standards and facility protocols. This position supports surgical and clinical teams to ensure safe compliant and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all ANSI/AAMI standards manufacturer IFUs SOPs and company Work Instructions.
Decontaminate used surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE and protocols.
Disassemble clean and reassemble complex surgical instruments.
Accurately assemble and package trays and sets per established guidelines.
Operate washers sterilizers and other processing equipment safely and correctly.
Inspect instruments for cleanliness function and damage.
Document missing or damaged instruments according to SOPs.
Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and instrument tracking.
Handle instruments and customer-owned items with care to prevent damage.
Perform daily computer and documentation tasks related to processing and tracking.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for instruments and supplies.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of sterilization equipment.
Keep workstations and decontamination areas clean and organized.
Adhere to quality standards infection control procedures and safety guidelines.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Experience
2 years of hands-on Sterile Processing/ SPD experience including loaner & consignment tray management.
Proven ability to coordinate with departments vendors and leadership.
Strong attention to detail with excellent tracking and organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency with instrument tracking systems and reporting tools.
Positive proactive and committed to high-quality work.
Required Certification (Must be active at start)
