| Job Description: | The University of Florida Diabetes Research team in Peds is seeking a motivated and This role includes performing laboratory experiments managing biological samples Laboratory Research Support: Conduct molecular cellular and biochemical experiments in accordance with approved protocols. Assist with preparation handling and storage of biological specimens including human and animal samples. Maintain accurate experimental records and laboratory notebooks. Support ongoing projects through data collection analysis and documentation. Specimen Handling and Data Management: Process catalog and manage biospecimens for the Diabetes Institutes research biobank. Enter and maintain sample data in secure databases. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety biosafety and human subject research guidelines. Laboratory Maintenance and Compliance: Maintain laboratory organization inventory and equipment calibration. Assist in ordering and tracking supplies and reagents. Ensure compliance with UF Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements. Reporting and Documentation: Compile research data for project reports grant progress updates and publications. Participate in regular team meetings and communicate results to the supervisor and collaborators. Contribute to quality control standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory efficiency improvements. |

| Minimum Requirements: | Bachelors degree in biology or a closely related life science field. |
| Preferred Qualifications: | Bachelors degree in biological sciences biochemistry microbiology or a closelyrelated field. Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and safety practices. Experience in immunology molecular biology or diabetes-related research. Familiarity with biobanking flow cytometry ELISA PCR or tissue culture techniques. Experience maintaining laboratory records and following research protocols. Excellent organizational and communication skills. |
