Commercial Lines Agent
Job Summary
Seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Lines Agent to join a small close-knit team. This role is ideal for a sales-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to the growth of the agency. The successful candidate will handle a mix of sales and servicing responsibilities with opportunities to work on warm leads and referrals while also generating their own leads. This position offers room for professional growth within the agency and the chance to be part of a supportive and collaborative team.
Compensation Package
- Base Salary: Starting at $60000 (commensurate with experience).
- Commission: 30% new business commission and some renewal commission (negotiable based on sales focus).
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k).
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week in the office) based in La Plata MD.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a book of business focusing on commercial lines accounts.
- Generate new business through cold-calling warm leads and referrals.
- Provide exceptional service to existing clients including quoting new and renewal business.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Utilize Hawksoft software for account management and documentation.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lines insurance (open to candidates with small mid or large account experience).
- Proven sales skills with a willingness to engage in both cold and warm outreach.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Familiarity with Hawksoft software is a plus.
- Stable work history with a demonstrated commitment to previous roles.
