Job Description:

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Our team is part of TBSM data management group. Our vision is to make treasury a data centric organization and our mission is to ensure that data used and owned by Treasury is fully understood accessible controlled and fit for purpose. Our team acts as the business owner of the new the centralization data consumption solution to allow for seamless integration into TBSM applications and business users and develop self-serve user capabilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Common Responsibilities

  • Set appropriate context for the business unit/function to enable optimal performance and alignment to data strategy.

  • Support the creation of goals and objectives for the business unit/function. Communicate those goals and objectives to the team.

  • Build capability support / execute plans to acquire develop and retain the diverse teams with the skills and experience necessary to realize on current and future business strategies.

  • Role model behaviors consistent with TDs leadership profile customer and employee experience agendas and risk and control culture.

  • Create an extraordinary place to work advance and sustain a unique inclusive culture that reflects TDs diversity agenda and creates an extraordinary employee experience.

  • Lead coach and develop a highly effective team by ensuring on-going training and performance and development management.

  • Proactively support the identification of issues trends and opportunities and bring forward recommendations based on judgment and facts.

  • Lead team to prepare framework to succinctly take complex data and translate it into clear and concise recommendations.

  • Ensure deep understanding and contribute to the achievement of the business strategy goals and objectives.

  • Protect the interests of the organization identify and manage risks and escalate non-standard high risk transactions / activities as necessary.

  • Manage oversight process risk-based identification and monitoring of related risks and regulatory compliance across the supported functions while ensuring key controls and processes are effectively managed.

  • Proactive in championing the identification escalation and resolution of data issues identified as part of projects.

  • Communicates with all data roles business segments and corporate functions as needed.

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent setting goals developing staff managing employee performance and compensation decisions promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions as required.

  • Proactively manage risk and compliance to regulatory standards and in accordance with TBSM target operating model.

  • Builds a strong team exhibiting positive team dynamics andcreate a working environment that encourages productivity and innovation.

Specific Responsibilities for this role

  • Leads the delivery of required data for TBSM users.

  • Partners with Technology and TBSM Business to create implement and maintain a standardized consumption point consumption pattern and a physical articulation of curated and ready to consume treasury data to ensure data availability and quality for downstream TBSM Business users.

  • Accountable to ensure business information is available to users to build develop design and implement capabilities for delivery of curated data for efficient consumption.

  • Accountable to create and maintain the data model to structure business data to be consumed.

  • Validate the implemented data solution and automate the UAT processes to optimize.

  • Foster a high-performance culture by setting team targets and objectives promoting and facilitating on-going feedback/coaching and conducting Quarterly Check-Ins for all colleagues to drive accountability and business results.

  • Manage employees in compliance with all human resources policies procedures and guidelines of conduct.

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Subject matter expert with financial instrument products and data modeling

  • Strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials with deep industry external / internal enterprise knowledge recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areas.

  • Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)

  • Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals.

  • Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)

  • Generally reports to executive management

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g. math physics engineering finance or computer science) Graduates degree preferred with either progressive project work experience or

  • 7 year of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted.

  • Deep data knowledge for financial instruments/products

  • Treasury business domain knowledge such as liquidity capital interest rate risk or fund transfer pricing.

  • Technical data analytics (SQL/Python/VBA) reporting tools(Tableau Power BI SAS) and people management skills

  • Large scale project experience
