Position Summary:
The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading all daily delivery operations across TeaBevCos distribution network. This role oversees driver performance routing efficiency compliance safety fleet readiness and execution of the delivery experience for all franchise partners. The Transportation Manager ensures routes run on time in full safely and with exceptional customer service supporting TeaBevCos OTIF cost and quality goals.
Key Responibilities
- Delivery Operations & Routing
- Manage all daily transportation operations including scheduling routing dispatching and fleet tracking.
- Build and maintain efficient delivery routes that support OTIF (On Time In Full) and Fill Rate targets.
- Optimize night-drop delivery schedules to maximize route efficiency and reduce delivery disruptions.
- Monitor route performance and proactively resolve delays disruptions and exceptions.
- Driver Leadership & Performance
- Lead a team of company drivers and contracted carriers.
- Train drivers on safe operation DOT compliance customer service and TeaBevCo delivery standards.
- Conduct regular ride-alongs audits and safety checks.
- Maintain driver scorecards and performance reviews tied to KPIs (OTIF injuries damages customer feedback).
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with DOT FMCSA and company safety policies.
- Oversee driver qualification files training certifications and medical cards.
- Implement and enforce pre-trip in-route and post-trip inspection standards.
- Investigate all incidents accidents or damage claims and implement corrective actions.
- Fleet Management
- Oversee TeaBevCos fleet including tractors trailers box trucks and equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained inspected and safe for operation.
- Coordinate repairs schedule preventative maintenance and manage vendor relationships.
- Track fleet utilization mileage cost fuel and total cost of ownership.
- Customer Service & Franchise Support
- Serve as primary escalation point for franchise delivery issues.
- Drive a customer-first culture within the transportation team.
- Partner with Franchise Operations to address issues proactively and ensure strong communication.
- Track and resolve delivery discrepancies within 24 hours.
- Cost Control & KPI Management
- Manage transportation budget including labor fuel maintenance and third-party carriers.
- Reduce freight cost per store through routing optimization and labor efficiency.
- Track and publish transportation KPIs including:
- OTIF
- Cost per route / cost per store
- Delivery damages
- Driver productivity
- Miles per route
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to lower costs and improve reliability.
Required Skills and Experience
- 7 years in transportation logistics or fleet management (food & beverage or distribution experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety standards.
- Experience leading drivers and transportation teams.
- Ability to analyze routing data KPIs and transportation metrics.
- Strong leadership communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Experience with route optimization tools GPS/telematics and TMS systems.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL license (not required but highly valuable).
- Experience with night-drop operations.
- Previous work in franchise distribution or multi-stop routing.
- Experience opening or managing more than one DC.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to ride along with drivers climb in and out of trucks and oversee dock operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for site audits or operational support.
