JOB SUMMARY

The Student Event Worker will help support school events by assisting with event setup cleanup parking coordination ticket taking ushering concessions and other general event operations. This position is a great opportunity for current district high school students that are looking to gain valuable work experience while working alongside other students in a fun safe and collaborative work environment.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

All positions require selected candidates that are 18 years or older to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check. Additional minimum required qualifications for this position are:

  1. Ability to follow safety practices and procedures
  2. Availability to work during weekday evenings and weekends as needed
  3. Must be a current district high school student that attends the school at which they will be employed
  4. Speak read write and present professionally analyze and interpret English written and verbal communications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist in organizing facilitating and executing school events including post-event cleanup
  2. Greet guests and provide information and directions
  3. Interact in a positive manner (e.g. students staff administrations general public etc.) to maintain a friendly and welcoming environment for school events
  4. Provide support to event leadership with cash handling and electronic payments
  5. Work outdoors in inclement weather conditions (e.g. high winds heavy rain snow and extreme temperatures etc.)
  6. Be proactive in identifying addressing and bringing to the attention of the event leadership any potential safety concerns
  7. Communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups of people while maintaining confidentiality and building positive working relationships with employees and stakeholders
  8. Work under limited supervision utilizing time-management and prioritization strategies accurately processing detailed information and meeting deadlines
  9. Attend meetings as required to convey and gather information for school events
  10. Support a team environment by collaborating with own and other work units to effectively perform the duties of the position
  11. Adapt to changing work priorities and work with frequent interruptions as required
  12. As needed roll push pull bend reach stoop and lift up to 25 pounds
  13. Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements efficiently and effectively
  14. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting carrying pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds some stooping kneeling crouching and crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting 50% walking and 40% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
