About the Role:

TheMaintenance &Custodial Technicianis responsible forthe overall cleanliness and maintenance oftheMondloch Emergency Shelter Mondloch Place Permanent Supportive Housingfacilitiestheirequipment and its campus. This positionwillreport to the Operations Manager andassistwithmaintenance contractors working at thefacilitiesand keepa running maintenance request log and work closely with Fairfax Counties Facilities Maintenance Division who regularly services the facility.

How you will contribute:

  • Perform daily cleaning to thefacilitiesincluding:removal of trash vacuuming/sweeping floors mopping as necessary wiping all surfaces including windowswindow sills and furniture as well asdisinfectall bathrooms.
  • Restock all supplies such as paper towels toilet papergarbage canliners air freshener hand soaps etc.
  • Properly care for all cleaning equipment (washing mopheads andremoving dust and debris from floor cleaning equipment).
  • Serve as point of contact for contractors and vendors related to facilities management
  • Performgroundsmaintenance atMondloch House and Mondloch Placesuch as picking up trash cleaning trash receptacles removing debris etc.
  • Assistin repair and installation of furnishings and equipment as requested andmaintaininga working knowledge of how appliances and equipmentoperateand when they need servicing.
  • Assistin annual maintenance including air filter changes smoke detector checks etc.
  • Assistin troubleshooting and reporting maintenance requests at bothMondloch House & Mondloch Place
  • AssistOperations Manager inensuring the facilitys inclement weather and emergency response plan is current (Including tracking fire drillsetc)
  • ProficientlyutilizeMicrosoft (email calendar drive docsetc) as a part of theday to daywork requirements

About You:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed Preferred:
  • 1 year of custodial experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Annual TB Test isrequired
  • Ability to sit or stand forlong periods
  • Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds
