Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Observation Registered Nurse (OBS RN) provides skilled nursing care to patients requiring overnight stays for surgical procedures procedural observation medical observation and some medical inpatient or long-term stay care. This role requires floating between various similar units within the nurses skill set.
Location:Olympia Washington United States
Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to observation patients.
- Perform patient assessments.
- Administer medications.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Float between various like units within skill set.
- Monitor and document patient status in EPIC.
- Assist with surgical procedures requiring overnight stays.
- Care for procedural observation patients.
- Manage medical observation patients.
- Provide care for some medical inpatient and long length of stay patients.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RN.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- EPIC charting experience.
Special Considerations:

- Must float between various like units within skill set.
- Every other weekend (EOW) is required.
- Travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts available.
- Day shift ratios: 1:4.
- Night shift ratios: 1:5.
- Weekend ratios: 1:5.
- Block schedules are not accommodated.
- RTO requests should be kept under 7 days.
