Guitar Instructor (GarfieldCommunity Center)
If you have experience working with groups of school-aged children ages 6-12 and have a passion for teaching and experience playing and teaching guitar lessons Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has an amazing role for you as a Guitar Instructor. This is a part-time role at Garfieldcommunity Center.
ARC in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs classes and this role the Guitar Instructorwill be responsible forengaging participants and teaching guitar lessons to groups of children ages 6-12. The Guitar Instructoris responsible for maintaining a safe fun inclusive environment welcoming to all.

Guitar InstructorResponsibilities:
Conduct engaging beginner and intermediate guitar classes for youth.
Teach foundational skills such as proper posture tuning basic chords strumming patterns and reading tabs/music.
Develop lesson plans that align with the community centers program goals and class structure.
Create a positive supportive and inclusive learning environment for students of all backgrounds and skill levels.
Demonstrate techniques clearly and provide individual feedback during class.
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
Maintain a safe and organized classroom setup including care of any center-owned instruments or equipment.
Encourage creativity confidence and enjoyment of music through hands-on learning and practice.
