High Jump Coach

Position Overview

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA) an all-girls Catholic high school committed to educating young women for a life of faith integrity and truth is seeking an experienced High Jump Coach.

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable leader who can inspire student-athletes promote sportsmanship and elevate a competitive and inclusive Track & Field program rooted in the mission and values of FSHA.

Season: January 12 May 16 (through CIF playoffs) 3x per week
Compensation: $1500 stipend for the season

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan and lead high jump training sessions focused on skill development technique strength and conditioning
• Teach proper high jump mechanics with an emphasis on safety and progressive skill building
• Collaborate with the Track & Field coaching staff to coordinate training schedules and meet preparation
• Assess athlete progress and provide constructive individualized feedback
• Supervise athletes at practices meets and team events
• Model and promote sportsmanship teamwork and a growth mindset
• Ensure compliance with school league and state athletic regulations

Required Qualifications

• Experience coaching high jump or competing in the event at the high school collegiate or club level
• Strong understanding of high jump technique and training principles
• Ability to motivate and positively interact with high school athletes
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Fingerprint/background clearance as required by the school/district
• Teaching credential not required but coaching certifications are a plus
