Job Summary
A school-based program in Hamilton VA is seeking a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students with behavioral developmental and special education needs. The RBT will work under the supervision of a BCBA to implement behavior intervention plans collect data and provide direct student support in the classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Behavioral Intervention
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under BCBA supervision.
Provide 1:1 or small-group behavioral and learning support to students.
Apply Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies throughout the school day.
Assist students with communication emotional regulation social skills and task completion.
Support students during transitions classroom activities and daily routines.
Data Collection & Documentation
Collect and record data on student behavior and progress.
Maintain accurate behavior logs and required documentation.
Communicate behavioral changes or concerns promptly to supervising staff.
Collaboration & Classroom Support
Work collaboratively with teachers paraprofessionals and related service providers.
Assist with structured learning activities and classroom routines.
Reinforce positive behavior and maintain a safe supportive environment.
Participate in meetings trainings and professional development as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of ABA principles and behavior management.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and patience.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and implement interventions consistently.
Experience with autism developmental disabilities or behavioral needs (preferred).
Basic computer and documentation skills.
Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or GED (Required).
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification (Required).
CPR/BLS Certification (Preferred).
Prior school or behavioral health experience (Preferred).
