Qualifications
A masters degree in mathematics or a closely related field is required. The degree must be awarded by the start of the appointment.
Experience teaching developmental courses is preferred.

Salary/Pay Range:$50000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor starting August 2026. Duties include teaching twenty-four semester credit hours per academic year along with service in support of departmental goals in undergraduate education. This position will be responsible for teaching a minimum of 12 credit hours (two sections) per year of MATH 1030 College Algebra with Supplemental Instruction.
Applications must include a letter of application/a cover letter a curriculum vitae a teaching statement and three letters of recommendation at least two highlighting teaching. The teaching statement should detail the experience in teaching mathematics courses including a brief description of the courses taught and discuss any innovative teaching approaches if applicable. The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Classroom teaching to include at least two sections per year of MATH 1030.
Mentoring and academic advising of students.
Serving on committees.
Participating in department meetings.
