Must possess a valid drivers license (must meet minimum criteria of Childrens Minnesota Fleet Safety Management policy). * Must be able to successfully pass background checks of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and Department of Human Services (DHS). * Must be able to prepare verbal and written reports. * Good verbal writing and computer skills required. * Must complete and pass use of force training within 30 days of hire. * Must complete and pass Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training within 90 days of hire. * Must be able to wear respiratory protection (N-95 respirator full face respirator and PAPR) be fit tested and able to pass respirator physical.
Education: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Bachelors or Associates Degree in Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Business Psychology or Sociology preferred.
Experience: * Prior experience responding and intervening in emergency situations such as crisis de-escalation intervention detainment of suspects reporting and investigating incidents and enforcing organizational policy preferred. * Prior Law Enforcement or security experience preferred. * Emergency Operations Center experience preferred. * Healthcare knowledge/experience preferred.
License/Certification Preferences: * POST skills completed International Association of Hospital Safety and Security (Basic) First Responder Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or OSHA first responder certifications preferred. * Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) Physical Security Professional (PSP) Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) a plus.
