Job Summary

Washington Regional Urgent Care is looking for experienced Medical Assistants to join our team in Mountain Home AR.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant / Receptionist provides clinical care to patients in urgent care occupational health and workers compensation settings. Responsibilities include initial evaluations x-ray testing and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories vital signs and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention. This position will also have medical receptionist responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
Promptly greets patients when entering waiting area exam room and laboratory or x-ray room
Answer patient inquires and direct them through the registration process
Answer multi-line phones filing faxing scanning documentation and completing daily patient callbacks
Check in and discharge patients assist clinical staff and close the office at the end of each shift
Collect all insurance information verify patient demographics process payments post patient balances and complete phone sheets
Consistently communicates with patients on wait times; provides direction to the next step in the treatment process
Provides solutions to patient problems and recognizes and seeks help in emergent/hazardous situations
Executes follow-up calls with a sense of urgency
Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs and weight takes brief history past medical family and social history current medications allergies and other pertinent historical information as appropriate
Assists with patient transfers
Assists with procedures directly supervised by the provider
Follows documentation procedures and completes required documentation related to patient visit
Responsible for ensuring patient areas remain neat and tidy throughout the day
Responsible for cash and check reconciliation and nightly deposit drop offs
Maintain a neat and clean work environment and professional appearance
Adhere to all relevant health and safety procedures

WHATS THE SCHEDULE
Full-time team memberswork a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

WHATS REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience performing clerical tasks in a medical office setting
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience
BLS Certification required
