  • A vacancy exists for a Supervisor - District Financial Servicesposition to work within the Office of Business Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit!The Supervisor - District Financial Services is responsible for providing accounting and supervisory services to MCIU clients.

    Qualifications:
    1. Minimum of BS Degree in appropriate field; MS Strongly Preferred
    2. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in appropriate field leadership experience strongly preferred
    3. Expertise (includes one or more of the following):
      1. Oversight of staff
      2. Responsibility for budget of programs or initiatives
      3. Interfaces with Customers & Stakeholders
    4. Experience working effectively and cooperatively with administration parents and professional and non-professional staff within the educational community.
    5. Ability to supervise and work effectively and cooperatively with administrative and non-professional staff.
    6. Proficiency in the use of technology for individual communication and research.
    7. Employs good oral and written communication skills; demonstrates good organizational skills.
    8. Possesses effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers administrators parents students support staff and outside professional contacts.
    9. Qualities of leadership and good communication skills.
    10. Original certificates of clearance from the State Police Child Abuse Registry and PDE FBI.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    Accounting Activities
    1. Analyze and assure accuracy of general ledger account activity on a regular basis.
    2. Monitor and assure proper accounting and account code reporting for all revenue and expenditure accounts.
    3. Ensure that monthly bank account reconciliations are prepared and completed.
    4. Assist with preparation and provide oversight to processing of journal entries and general ledger entries.
    5. Prepare year end entries reports and related worksheets and schedules.
    6. Manage the preparation and submission of state and federal program reports as well as the schedule of federal financial assistance.
    7. Oversee the preparation and completion of the board treasurers report including supporting documentation.
    8. Assure completion of the Annual Financial Report.
    9. Prepare and process listing of required budget transfers as well as overall budget development.
    Business Office Supervisory Support
    1. Supervise the personnel and functions for accounts payable accounts receivable payroll grants services and accounting.
    2. Provide backup supervisory support for other business office functions.
    3. Assure proper work flow and cross training for business office functions
    4. Coordinate e-Finance related trainings as well as other business office procedure trainings.
    5. Establish external business office support trainings for client entities.
    Internal and External Audit Support
    1. Coordinate efforts to respond and provide information for local state and federal auditors: maintain liaison relationship with auditors in accommodating their needs and requests.
    2. Establish internal controls and provide for proper audit trails.
    3. Perform periodic internal auditing functions and make recommendations for procedural changes to ensure proper controls are in place and followed.
    4. Ensure compliance with GASB standards for reporting.
    Other
    1. Make recommendations and provide information/data to supervisor and other administrators for necessary changes within area of responsibility.
    2. Actively model the Mission Vision and Values of the MCIU.
    3. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Business Services Administrative team.

    Location:
    The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located at 2 W. Lafayette St. Norristown PA 19401.

    Work Schedule:
    Monday-Friday 7 hours/day 12 months (260-262 days/year)

    Annual Salary:
    $78200/year - $92000/year (L7)
