12The Role: Senior Analyst Insurance Ratings
The Location: Tokyo
The Team: You will be part of a closely knit and high-performance team (about 15 members in the Financial Institution Ratings Team)
The Impact: You will provide key stakeholders with our value-added credit story on insurance sector through clear opinions and strong analysis.

You will develop expertise in the analysis of insurance companies from the globally comparative perspective by covering a portfolio of companies.
You will work with a group of very talented and experienced analysts from diversified backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
Analyzing pertinent information and data necessary for determining ratings on insurance companies and their debt issues
Making recommendations and presenting to rating committees
Drafting press releases company-specific reports and industry commentaries in a fast-paced environment with publication deadlines
Effectively communicating to clients S&Ps methodologies and rating rationale
Continuous monitoring of operating performance of rated companies including reviews of public filings and private information supplied by issuers
Meeting with external stakeholders such as issuers investors and arrangers on analytical matters
Contributing to S&Ps global and regional analytical sectoral forums and authoring sector-related commentaries
Adhering to the internal guidelines procedures and policies
Supporting projects related to the improvement of criteria quality process and tools.
What Were Looking For:
Bachelors or higher degree. Actuarial background CFA or CPA is a plus
Minimum five years of relevant experience in financial industry in particular insurance industry
Strong financial statement analysis skills and accounting knowledge
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including business level English
A demonstrated ability to give effective verbal presentations to senior executives
A highly motivated team player who can work autonomously in a global multi-cultural and fast-paced environment
Ability to undertake rigorous analytical work and to write analytical reports
