Job Summary

Rowhedge & University of Essex Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to join our practice on a part-time basis of 15 hours per week.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

developing our prescribing systems to ensure safe effective and efficient prescribing with in the practice;
supporting the reception and administration teams with complex medication queries;
supporting the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions.

About the Candidate

All applicants must:

be a registered member of the GPhC with at least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician and experience of supervision/ leadership on projects. It is desirable that you have experience of supervising staff but this is not essential.
have experience of dealing with patients face-to-face as well as over the telephone and digitally.
have experience of working within a diverse team with multiple disciplinaries and be able to liaise with clinical and admin staff with the practice.
have experience of using computer systems including clinical systems such as SystmOne and EMIS Web.
have knowledge of law and guidelines around medicines and the Code of Conduct.
have a good level of education including maths and English.
have strong communication skills both verbally and in writing as well as strong knowledge of a high level of confidentiality.
have experience of liaising with the PCN clinical pharmacist and be able to escalate issues to them.
