Job Summary
Core Responsibilities
The System Engineer is responsible for:
- Administer monitor and maintain enterprise backup solutions.
- Handle L2 escalations from the L1 support team.
- Perform backup restore and disaster recovery operations.
- Troubleshoot backup failures and performance issues.
- Ensure daily backup job success and validation.
- Perform data restoration requests (files databases VMs).
- Monitor backup storage utilization and capacity planning.
- Implement and maintain backup policies schedules and retention.
- Support DR drills and business continuity planning.
- Patch and upgrade backup infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
- Create and maintain documentation SOPs and runbooks.
- Coordinate with L3 team for complex issues.
Eligibility
- Any technical graduate
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility to work in shifts
Required Skill Set
- Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
- Experience with:
- Virtualization platforms: VMware Hyper-V
- Storage systems: SAN and NAS
- Knowledge of:
- Tape libraries & disk-based backup
- Windows OS
- RPO/RTO and DR concepts
Basic PowerShell scripting is a plus
Qualifications :
