Job Summary
Position summary: Research Engineer -1 building an expertise in surface science and wettability supporting the exploration of new coating materials systems on glass like ceramic frits sol-gel silicates etc.
Responsibilities:
- Design optimize and implement wet chemical methods for the synthesis and application of organic and inorganic coatings.
- Help in the establishment of surface engineering competency at the R&D centre.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Analyze and characterize materials using advanced microscopy spectroscopy and other relevant techniques.
- Document experimental procedures results and interpretations in technical reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and foster a culture of safety and collaboration in the laboratory.
Qualifications:
Master’s in materials science and engineering with 2 - 5 years of experience
Specific skills / Personal attributes
- Safety mindset with good awareness of chemical hygiene
- Strong experimental background and analytical skills
- Some familiarity in coatings and surface science preferred
- Good communication skills
- Strong team player with an ability to connect with partners in operations quality R&D and business
