About the Role
The Food Service Assistant under the guidance of the Executive Chef will be responsible to plate portion and provide speciality foods to all SVHM clients both internal and external. Some basic meal preparation production may be required from time to time.

• Setting up cleaning down and re-stocking of bulk portioning area
• Provision of correct food items and textures as per patient meal tallies
• Liaising with Second chef regarding blast chilling/packing of specialized food items
• Picking/packing of specialised food items for SVHM and external sites
• Liaising between Food Services Office Manager on tallies and production amounts
• Some salad and sandwich preparation and production

Classifications for this position will range from IN13 - IN14 ($50866 - $53508 per annum pro rata).

Your Contribution

• Experience in high volume food service

About Food Services Department

St Vincents Fitzroy Food service department is a central production kitchen providing food for 11 sites and for St Vincents itself. We are fully functional kitchen operating 365 days of the year. We produce approximately 2500 meals daily in accordance to the cook-chill methodology for all sites.

Food service department consist of over 90 employees ranging from cooks/chefs kitchen hands and food service assistance.
