We have an excellent opportunity for a Part-Time Temporary Vice President of Development in our Eagan office. The VP will serve as a player/coach with a focus on driving corporate revenue for our Heart Walk and Heart Ball campaigns as well as providing leadership to fundraising staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct coaching and supervision to fundraising staff.
  • Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership.
  • Prospect and secure platform corporate sponsorships.
  • Develop profiles on the top businesses within the area with a documented plan to secure their involvement.
  • Support Development staff in executing event logistics based on national best practices.
  • Work closely with a Communications Director to develop and manage a promotion/communications plan for the event.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in fundraising or outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.

  • 3 years of experience in a management capacity. This experience may occur within the 3-year related experience requirement. Experience gained through direct internal work on American Heart Association projects/priorities may substitute for this requirement and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including large and small group presentations group facilitation and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports evaluations and similar narrative pieces.

  • Ability to read comprehend and analyze number goals as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.

  • Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.

  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary minimum to the midpoint of the range is $88600 to $118100 annually. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. This position is incentive eligible based upon achieving certain targets.
