We have an exciting opportunity for a Foreman to join our Racing Department on afull-time permanent basis located at Sportsbet Sandown Racecourse.
In this role you will lead and support track staff in maintaining safe consistent and well-presented racing and training surfaces. Youll combine practical expertise with strong leadership guiding the team operating machinery and developing your technical and supervisory skills to help us deliver the best racing experience.

As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses we own 15 club and hotel venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG).
What will your responsibilities be
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of racing and training tracks to ensure they meet Racing Victoria standards.
Support the daily implementation of turf management tasks such as irrigation mowing fertilisation aeration and repairs.
Assist with race day preparations including barrier placement track crossings and surface inspections.
Provide hands-on support during trials jump-outs and daily training operations.
Supervise staff and contractors ensuring safe and high-quality work while supporting the development of junior team members.
Operate a range of turf machinery and equipment as required and carry out routine checks cleaning and basic servicing.
Qualifications Skills & Experience
Formal qualifications in Turf Management Horticulture Agronomy or a related field (desirable)
Strong knowledge of turf and track surface management
Experience working within a racing club or governing body (desirable)
Valid Drivers Licence
