Job Description
Primary duties consist of providing the planning coordination and direction of a program or multiple projects. Duties include ensuring the program and individual projects are on budget and schedule the design fits the clients requirements (desired scope available budget and within time). This position will support design and construction and will be responsible for client interface scope schedule and budget tasks as senior leadership in the field. This position will report to the Area Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead planning design and construction efforts in accordance with the program policies and procedures
- Employee development including coaching mentoring supervisory and training techniques
- Supervise project team and ensures quality services consistent with Vanir procedures client goals and contract responsibilities on areas of safety performance and project staff
- Develop and maintain A/E/C industry networking relationships to market and sell Vanir services and drive business development efforts
- Develop an implementation plan and master schedule that reflects the priorities of the client.
- Financial reporting to the client and the bond oversight committee
- Develop and review contract documents
- Report and collaborate with clients senior management team on all project matters
- Develop and implement a program quality management system
- Document and report all program/project data accurately and in a timely manner
- Manage program controls cost schedule performance activities and procedures required by the client
- Track all program and project level status and provide management reports relative to scheduling cost control staffing and other related contract requirements
- Create and present program and project data clearly to multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
- Identify risk and create risk mitigation plans successfully
- Develop recommended actions and assist in resolving disputes relative to design and construction
- Provide management of program logistics organization safety and manpower utilization
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure program and project success
- Ensure contractor architect and engineer will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety performance project staff and equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Engineering or Architecture is required
- Ideal candidates will possess 15 years of experience providing project / program / construction management services on K-12 and higher education projects and programs. Experience with other markets served by Vanir is beneficial.
- Experience in managing the full cycle of a project: pre-construction / planning design procurement construction and closeout/warranty
- Advanced knowledge and application of master planning A/E solicitation project development design-phase management construction estimating cost project controls/scheduling documentation engineering/construction principles contracts and delivery methods are required
- Thorough understanding of contracts documents drawings and specifications and applied experience in the areas of project accounting cost administrative and personnel interaction in professional settings are required
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in writing (written correspondence and in email) and orally
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is desired; registration as a registered architect or professional engineer is acceptable.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including education qualifications experience and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $150000-$160000.
