Job Summary
We are looking for aCommunity Support Workerto join our team inPoole where youll become a trusted companion to a young man we support. Your role will be to encourage him to live more independently whether thats supporting with everyday tasks at home exploring new hobbies and interests or even gaining experience through work placements.
Please note:Autism Unlimited does not provide visa sponsorship.
To be considered for this roleyou must hold a Full UK driving licensehowever access to your own vehicle is not essential.
The role
George communicates using visual aids PECS cards signs and gestures giving him his own unique way of sharing his thoughts and preferences. We have been fortunate enough to work with Georgesince the start of 2025 as he is taking part in our Futures project and was welcomed in to our adult services in March.
George has a wide range of interests whether hes catching the latest blockbuster at the cinema belting out tunes at the local karaoke spot or gliding through laps at the swimming pool. But when the rain rolls in he happily settles indoors diving into a good board game or curling up with a movie marathon most often featuring his beloved Marvel films.
George is supported on a 1:1 basis and is reliant on his support staff. He requires assistance with personal care medication and meal preparation.
As a valued member of our team your role will involve a mix of meaningful support from helping with daily routines like food preparation shopping and personal care to accompanying residents as they access the community and pursue their interests. You may also assist with administering medication to ensure their wellbeing.
Hours: 41 hours per week
Between 7am 10pm -Monday - Sunday
This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment)
