To achieve this were building the first fully vertical AI-enabled medical group from the ground up redesigning the entire clinical stack with custom AI tools that make our in-house physicians faster and smarter without compromising security or patient safety.

Since our founding in 2023 Counsel has partnered with leading employers health plans health systems and channel partners serving 100K members and on track to reach 1M more over the next 12 months. We have raised over $35M from a16z GV and other top-tier investors and are on pace to 5x revenue this year.

Our founding team includes senior physicians and technology leaders from Harvard Medical School Massachusetts General Hospital UCSF the MIT Media Lab and Mount Sinai. Our broader team coming from Stripe NVIDIA and Google DeepMind is growing quickly and were looking for exceptional people to join us at this inflection point.

About the role

Counsel Health is seeking a hands-on SVP of Engineering to lead the next phase of our growth scaling our technology people and systems as we redefine the future of AI human healthcare. This role combines strategic vision with deep technical leadership owning the end-to-end delivery of Counsels platform across full-stack and infrastructure domains.

You will shape the foundation of our engineering organization architecting scalable systems building and mentoring exceptional teams and driving the technical execution that powers our next stage of growth. Youll partner closely with Product AI Commercial and Clinical teams to ensure our technology directly enhances patient outcomes and advances our mission.

What youll be working on:

Providing Hands On Leadership: own the end-to-end delivery of Counsels platform and engineering organization spanning full-stack and infrastructure domains combining strategic vision with hands-on execution to unblock engineers help the team scale effectively
Scaling the Platform and Organization: Work with the team to develop foundational systems infrastructure and processes that allow us to scale during our next stage of growth
Building and Leading a High-Performing Team: Recruit develop and retain top engineering talent. Strengthen a culture where engineers take ownership stay accountable and continually raise the bar
Cross-functional Partnership: Partner with AI Product Commercial and Clinical teams to align engineering initiatives with patient experience and overall business strategy
Executing with Velocity and Discipline: Work to increase product velocity and reliability while maintaining the highest quality and best practices. Ensure the engineering org operates as a trusted high-leverage partner to cross-functional teams

Requirements:

7 years of engineering leadership with demonstrated experience evolving engineering processes architecture and infrastructure through rapid growth stages
Experience building or leading engineering in health-tech digital health or healthcare-adjacent environments
Deep technical acumen understanding what great engineering looks like and can coach teams to reach that standard
Proven experience building high-performing engineering teams while acting as a hands-on leader who unblocks teams enables autonomy and raises the bar for excellence
Strong collaborator who partners effectively with AI Product Commercial and Clinical teams to translate company goals into executable technical plans
Showcases strategic leadership by owning a compelling technical vision and roadmap that aligns with company objectives
