We are recruiting a Year 6 Teacher for a popular primary school in Slough. The Year 6 Teacher will be responsible for delivering sequenced units that consolidate curriculum knowledge leading focused revision and booster programmes and preparing pupils for smooth transition to secondary school. This Year 6 Teacher vacancy starts January 2026 with handover and induction sessions scheduled prior to January 2026 to ensure continuity for pupils and staff in Slough.

About the role
As Year 6 Teacher you will plan ambitious lessons that balance curriculum coverage with exam technique and independent learning. The Year 6 Teacher will analyse assessment data to identify priorities run targeted small-group support and liaise with parents and receiving secondary schools. Working in Slough the Year 6 Teacher will also support moderation reporting and whole-school improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Year 6 lessons that develop fluency reasoning and independent application.
- Design and run booster and revision sessions to close gaps and consolidate learning.
- Use assessment effectively to inform planning and to track cohort and individual progress.
- Coordinate transition arrangements and prepare detailed handover documentation for secondary partners.
- Contribute to moderation reporting and phase leadership work across Slough.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with strong upper-KS2 experience and a proven track record in Year 6 outcomes.
- Calm under pressure organised and confident in planning targeted programmes that raise attainment.
- Strong communicator with the ability to engage parents and colleagues in Slough.
- Able to commence January 2026 and to attend handover sessions before January 2026.
