Job Summary

A welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a reliable and compassionate SEN TA to join the special needs team from January 2026. The successful SEN TA will provide one-to-one and small-group support deliver evidence-informed interventions help implement individual learning plans and support pupils social and emotional development. This SEN TA post in Tower Hamlets starts January 2026 with induction and handover scheduled before January 2026 so the SEN TA can be classroom-ready for the spring term.

SEN TA to deliver targeted interventions scaffold learning and assist with pastoral care

The SEN TA will work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to adapt resources run programmes that build communication and independence support sensory needs and record progress. The appointed SEN TA will be patient organised and confident using practical strategies to enable access to the curriculum. Working in Tower Hamlets the SEN TA will join a supportive staff team committed to inclusive practice and measurable pupil progress.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to increase access to learning.
  • Deliver structured interventions track impact and report findings to the SENCo.
  • Adapt and prepare resources to meet individual needs and encourage independence.
  • Support pupils social and emotional development implementing agreed strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate outcomes with staff and families in Tower Hamlets.

Person specification

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school or specialist setting as a SEN TA.
  • Practical knowledge of intervention programmes behaviour strategies and differentiation.
  • Calm patient and resilient with strong communication skills for working across Tower Hamlets.
  • Able to start January 2026 and attend induction and handover prior to January 2026.
